Why Having A Tattoo Is Becoming Increasingly Popular

Tattoos have become very popular over the last 10 to 20 years, and studies show that more and more people are getting a tattoo. It is a lifestyle for many young people . There is a whole culture surrounding tattoo design, and tattoos have become a fine body art. There is even a tattoo app now for iphone.

Of course though, it wasn’t always this way and there are still some parts of the world where the art of tattooing is seen as being more acceptable than in other places. As a general rule of thumb, tattooing is most popular and accepted in the northern European countries. Perhaps this is because certain tattoo styles have originated from here (e.g. Celtic). Denmark, Sweden and the United Kingdom seem to top the polls for societies acceptance towards this form of self-adornment.

As you head further south and east, in Europe, tattooing becomes more of a taboo and there is still some way for societies attitudes to modernise in these parts of the world.

The United States now claims to be totally accepting of tattooing, but, in fact, this is usually still quite far from the truth. While certain states do accept this art, the southern states especially, with their very conservative opinions, have a long way to go.

Australia too are surprisingly far less tolerant of such self-expression than one might immediately think. So, although people’s attitude towards tattooing is on a general rise in the more positive direction, goodness knows that most parts of the world have a long way to go.

The truth of the matter is, though, if you really want to become tattooed, it doesn’t matter where you live. Other people’s opinions of your body art should be viewed as completely irrelevant. After all, it’s your body and at least you are interesting enough to want to tattoos in the first place.
